One Day Training on DDI’s Hotel Training Process
The former Business Development Manager of Dewdrop Institute Abuja, Mrs Uzoamaka Ruth Okorafor conducted a one- day training session on DDI’s hotel training process and procedures.
This training provides an overview of the process and procedures for executing DDI’s hospitality training programs in partnership with hotels. It covers key administrative processes such as, Scheduling Trainings, Planning C Implementation, Training Delivery, Documentation, Consultant Oversight, Certificates C Attendance and Reporting C Archiving
Mrs Uzoamaka highlighted the importance of aligning training dates with departmental availability to ensure maximum participation. DDI must ensure to provide clear training objectives, resource allocation, and preparing training materials in advance. She further said that during the training delivery phase, interactive methods such as role-plays and real-life scenarios should be employed to engage participants and ensure practical understanding.
She also stressed the importance of accurate documentation, including detailed records of training materials, participants’ daily attendance, participant feedback, photos and visual contents and facilitator notes to reflect participant engagement and provide evidence for reporting and audits.
Mrs Amaka discussed the need to always have a DDI staff oversee the activities of consultants/expatriates to ensure training needs are met.
The session concluded with a brief recap and QCA. Mrs Vivian observed an omission of a post training impact assessment which she believes would give DDI the opportunity to evaluate the impact of the training on both hotel staff and their services. The team suggested that it will be wise to utilize either a window-shopping method which the hotel would pay for, or an internal customer evaluation implemented by heads of departmental.
On the overall, the training provided a comprehensive understanding of effective hotel training processes, reinforcing the value of structured, well-documented learning experiences in the hospitality sector.
