The Dewdrop Institute (DDI) Abuja Centre recently hosted the team from National Institute of Caregivers (NIC), Nigeria, Mr. Victor Olusan, President and Co-founder and his colleage Mr. David Thomas, an Executive and Board Member of the Institute. The meeting held to advance discussions on a proposed training partnership between Dewdrop Institute and NIC aimed at strengthening the caregivin workforce caregiving through training development.
NIC, a nationally recognized caregiving training entity approved in 2022, operates from its office in Gudu District, Abuja. During the meeting, Mrs. Vivian Ugwu, the Center Administrator, Dewdrop Institute, Abuja Centre, provided a comprehensive overview of Dewdrop’s history, mission, and track record in delivering professional training programs across the care and hospitality industries. She highlighted how a collaboration between both organizations would create mutually beneficial opportunities, including expanding training reach and improving the quality of caregiving education nationwide. She also gave them a tour of the DDI Abuja centre and explained the reason for the ongoing renovations.
Mr. Olusan also offered insights into NIC’s operations, national accreditations, and future objectives. He mentioned that NIC’s two year plan is to be approved by Ministry of Education which is currently overseeing its activities as a Chattered Professional Institiute of Caregiving, this milestone is basically dependent on the fast completion of the national framework for the Institution. Prior information obtained through DDI’s marketing team revealed that NIC intends to outsource all healthcare-related training programs, having recently been appointed to execute several government projects.
This development presents a strategic opportunity for Dewdrop Institute to collaborate with NIC in delivering high-quality training solutions. NIC would be referring new learners to DDI on percentage basis. It was agreed that the Memorandum of Understanding between both parties will be signed before the end of next week. The meeting concluded with a shared understanding of the significant benefits the partnership holds for both organizations.
