Introduction

The Front Office Department of a hotel is the key point in which gives the first impression of the hotel to a guest. The Front Office shows off the type of hotel, level of service, and also impression that the guest is going to have once they arrive at the hotel.

In addition, the Front Office is the key point that provides guests with a great deal of information about the hotel and also the hotel’s surroundings. This means that if a guest is looking for something within the hotel, they are able to ask the reception. As most of the guests that lodge in hotels are not from that particular state or country the reception provides them with information.

This course provides the learner with an introduction to the Front Office Department and explains the different positions that are held in the Front Office Department.

The course is designed to introduce leaners to the Front Office and understand the different position and roles that are played. The learner will be able to see the structure of the Front Office Department through an Organizational chart. They will see how different staff report to different supervisors and managers.

My Approach

Practice, practice and more practice. Every section inside this course has a practice lecture at the end, reinforcing everything with went over in the lectures. I also created a small application that you will be able to download to help you practice. To top it off, we will build have weekly group meetings where you can chat with your fellow students and gain further insight, assistance and support.
